Bedtime & diaper heads

When Mitch comes home, which is usually near Kailyn's bedtime, he has a tendancy to get her alittle jazzed up. Last night he was reading her books and I thought bedtime was going to be nice and calm. A few minutes later I hear laughter and a " go show mom!". Kailyn comes zippin' around the corner looking like this! Diaper heads! How can you not laugh? Then they had to get Jake involved! Mitch may not always get her to bed on time, but these silly moments are priceless!

My Birthday

I recently celebrated # 32! I had a great day and thanks to all that made it special. Gifts, Flowers, Cake - I couldn't ask for more! I went to dinner with my friends, Elsa, Tina and Anthony along with Gavin and Kailyn. Tina got a super cute mini cake! It not only looked good but tasted great! Mitch had Back-2-school night; so we celebrated later with Bonnie, Travis and their kids with more cake! I don't know if my sugar high has yet come down!

Gavin Thomas

Our second little sweetie made his debut on Aug. 5, 2008. It was a great surprise to have a little boy, but no surprise that he has red hair! After sending the birth certificate lady back a few times, we finally decided on Gavin and away we were. Welcome to the jungle! For two reasons: his nursery is jungle theme, but also because he was a pretty fussy little fella. He is getting into a routine and has mellowed out some, which has been nice! He is starting to smile and coo and sleeps really well in his swing. If only we could get him to sleep soundly in his bassinet! We look forward to watching him grow and develop his personality. Here are a few of his pics!

Kailyn Nichole

Our first little sweetie arrived on Friday October 6, 2006 during football season. We had hoped that the baby would choose anyday but a Friday....It makes for a great story however. Since Mitch wasn't at the football game, Kailyn's arrival was announced on the evening news and in local newspaper. Celebrity style! She has brought so much joy into our lives and we continue to marvel at our little peanut ( as I call her, or peanutbrittle, ha). As a baby she was easy-going and always happy and smiling, but as she approaches the 2 year mark we are starting to see another side! There is an independent attitude and flare for drama that can bring both laughter and frustration. Fortunately, the laughter usually wins out. One of the fun things about her getting older is seeing her likes and dislikes taking hold. Likes: elmo, binky, books, disney princess, music and cd's ( loves to operate her cd player by herself! watch out!), being outdoors especially swimming, climbing on Jake, and Yobaby yogurt. Dislikes: juice and when Jake sits on or near her things. Also she is now loving the role of big sister. It was little bit of an adjustment (of course) when he came home but she enjoys giving him kisses, holding him and make sure he has his binky! Many times she felt the need to use his binky if he didn't want it... oh brother. Here are a few pics to get you updated!

Getting Started

So I have ventured into the world of blogging at the gentle persuading of my friend Kolly, and I am pretty excitied about it! I look forward to sharing the everyday "doings" of our family with our friends and family especially those who live millions of miles away. We are so excited to have Kailyn and Gavin in our lives and experience all the little nuances that comes with parenthood. Jake (our beloved chocolate lab who is 8 yrs. old) on the other hand has resigned himself to the fact that indeed he is just a dog. I guess we have made that distinction also. We are in the midst of maternity leave and football season; so the quiet moments come few and far between, but I will do my best to keep things updated. I will start with my favorite subjects, our little sweeties!
